Art therapy is a something our children enjoy. It’s not about professional skills development but about developing social skills using this non-verbal method. Through the colors, paint, and shapes, children and adults can express themselves and can translate their feelings from their inner world into the outer world. Sometimes, art therapy paintings are the only one way to find out what is going on inside of an autistic child.
Art therapy promotes emotional, mental growth; helps to establish connection with other people, is self-expressive and practices social skills in a natural, enjoyable and fun way.
“Art therapy is a unique form of treatment for autism, as it helps mitigate symptoms, while also channeling autistic behaviors into an expressive, creative outlet. It promotes communication, emotional growth and sensory integration while also fostering social interaction in a fun setting.” © the-art-of-autism.com
We would like to share with our readers these beautiful works of art painted by our little students. We hope they will inspire everyone to help not only those people with special abilities, but everyone, as we are all unique and have own beautiful worlds inside of us.
