ICare4Autism and Haifa University Break New Ground in Applied Autism Technology

HAIFA, ISRAEL – December 2, 2011

On November 22, 2011, more than 400 researchers, educators, technologists and parent advocates gathered at the University of Haifa to attend the day-long ICare4Autism Applied Autism Technology Conference to learn about the latest interventions and technological advances now available to help meet the needs of children with autism.

The Conference, which focused on new applications of media and technology tools to increase social skills, speech and language, independence and learning for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), was the most recent in a series of ICare4Autism events designed to meet the needs of autism communities throughout the diverse regions of Israel.

The Conference, developed by Dr. Joshua Weinstein, ICare4Autism’s Founder and CEO, working in close collaboration with Haifa University Professors Tamar Weiss and Dr. Eynat Gal, explored ways in which Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC) Devices and other new technologies achieved very significant positive effects on the communication, social and behavioral skills of children with autism.

ICare4Autism meets with Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat about Global Autism Center

ICare4Autism Breakfast with Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on Nov. 8, 2011

11/08/11 (NYC) – The International Center for Autism Research and Education (ICare4Autism), a New York City-based non-profit organization, held a special Breakfast event honoring the Mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat in a meeting with leading philanthropists and professionals in New York City at the offices of J. Morton Davis, Chairman of D.H. Blair Investment Banking Corporation on November 8th, 2011. Mayor Barkat spoke about the importance of Icare’s Global Autism Center on Mt. Scopus in Jerusalem, Israel, the first such center of its kind globally.  Co-Chairing the event was John A Catsimatidis, CEO of the Red Apple Group and Gristedes Foods.

ICARE4AUTISM BRINGS THE LATEST RESEARCH TO THE NEGEV

Partners with Soroka Medical Center and ALUT in Region’s First Autism Conference

(Beersheva, Israel – September 8, 2011) On September 5th, a group of 120 biomedical researchers, educators, clinicians and parent/advocates from throughout Israel’s Negev region met in Beersheva for a daylong conference about the latest advances in autism research and treatment in Israel and throughout the world.

This historic conference – the first such regional autism gathering ever held in Southern Israel – was convened by the International Center for Autism Research and Education (Icare4autism), working in close collaboration with Dr. Gal Meiri of Soroka’s Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service of the Soroka Medical Center and ALUT.
